Children and adolescents are not expected to participate in a formal exercise routines right now. They are expected to PLAY! Kids love to play. It is recommended that children get physically active AT LEAST 1-3 hours per day.

The increasing use of handheld electronics does call for consistent surveillance from parents and educated professionals regarding youth behavioral patterns and adequate physical activity awareness.

Some children are physically active 3+HOURS/Day following a training regimen that demands the body to respond, adapt, and improve in all year-round sport. Specialized training and nutritional recommendations for youth sports are two of the most important topics to discuss when year-round play and training is the goal. Young athletes excessively training without proper guidance can increase the risk of overtraining and burnout, which are two more topics equally as important to discuss and develop a plan with a professional.
